CedarPath MedicalUsed on moderately to heavily exuding wounds that are critically colonized, infected, or at high risk of infection.
A calcium alginate dressing that also contains ionic silver. It absorbs and gels exudate like a standard alginate while the silver provides sustained antimicrobial action in the dressing.
Use silver alginate on moderately to heavily exuding wounds with signs of infection or a high infection risk — pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers. For plain, non-infected exuding wounds a standard alginate is enough; for heavy bioburden, extra silver alginate delivers more silver.
Non-adhesive — use with a secondary cover dressing or silicone tape.

Versus a plain alginate it adds antimicrobial silver; versus a silver foam it packs cavities and handles heavier exudate rather than sitting flat on the surface.
Usually changed every 1–3 days; wear time depends on exudate, infection status and clinical assessment.
